"Singing in Baghdad", a concert by Cameron & Kristina

22 N. Chauncey Street in West Lafayette

North Americans, Cameron & Kristina play Arabic music on the streets of Iraq, Egypt, Jordan, Syria and the West Bank. They just returned from singing for an audience of 60,000 in Cairo at a fundraiser for the Cairo Children's Cancer Hospital. Cameron & Kristina will present Music; Images & Stories. Cameron plays a favorite instrument of the Arabs: the Oud. Kristina and he both sing in Arabic.

Jim Hightower speaks in Kokomo, Indiana
Johanning Civic Center, 1500 North Reed Road (US 31 North), Kokomo

The Rolling Thunder Down-Home Democracy Tour comes to Kokomo, Indiana, on Saturday, Sept 11, with a day-long lineup of music, speakers, food, drinks, and fun for the whole family. The event will be held at the Johanning Civic Center, 1500 North Reed Road (US 31 North). Kokomo is about 45 minutes away. Jim Hightower will be the headline speaker, and afterwards he?ll sign copies of his new book, which will be on sale at the event. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door. There will also be a VIP meet and greet with Hightower prior to his speech. Tickets for that are $40 and include a copy of his book. For more information, contact Kit Wessendorf 765-864-9008. Johanning Civic Center opens at 10 a.m. Jim Hightower is speaking at 3:00. The meet and greet is before he speaks, and $40 includes a copy of any one of his books. Proceeds go to the March of Dimes. "Eyes wide open" art exhibit in Indianapolis
Wheeler Arts Community Building

This is a multimedia multisensory journey through the words, images and sounds of the Iraq War. Sponsored by the American Friends Service Committee. Over 900 Pairs Combat Boots Display included representing the American soldiers who have died. Also 1000+ pairs of shoes representing the over 10,000 Iraqi civilians killed. "Billionaires for Bush" rally
12 noon.
A group of Purdue students are planning a satirical "Billionaires for Bush" to coincide with the 25th annual Industrial Roundtable, a job fair that Halliburton has been invited to. The group will also be doing student voter registration.
