Town Meeting on community health issues 7:00-9:30 p.m. LARA, 324 South Street, third floor conference room Fielding audience questions will be: Sociology Professor James Anderson, Professor of Medical Sociology and a Fellow of the American College of Medical Informatics, whose teaching and research involves social and ethical issues related to health care and the delivery of health care in the U.S. and elsewhere, Vickie Brose, licensed clinical social worker, who, as Wabash Valley Out Patient Branch Director, deals with diverse mental health issues of children and adults. Biology Professor David Sanders, whose work includes biodefense and virus research, investigation of Cystic Vibrosis treatments and the biological basis of greenhouse gas production. The Town Meeting is open to the public. Refreshments will be served. |

Get Out the Vote Rally 2-4 p.m. Pedestrian Bridge There will be a march of all individuals who want to "Replace Bush" , starting at 1:30PM from both the courthouse (3rd St. side) in Lafayette and from the Purdue Memorial Mall in West Lafayette. Both groups will march to the Myers Memorial Bridge (walking bridge) where there will be a Rally beginning at 3:00PM with speakers, music, and lots of enthusiasm. This rally will also generate enthusiasm for Get Out The Vote. After the rally there will be an automobile caravan (for cars with signs). Bishop Thomas Gumbleton, speaking on "Patriotism and Peacemaking" 7 p.m. St. Thomas Aquinas Center, Chapel (535 W. State, West Lafayette) Bishop Gumbleton is a leading voice in America's peace movement. He was founding president of Pax Christi USA (1971-1991) , the national Catholic peace and justice organization, and co-authored the 1983 U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishop's Pastoral Letter, "The Challenge of Peace." Bishop Gumbleton has traveled the world in peacemaking missions including several visits to Iraq and Afghanistan.
