Conservation Day 2005 at the Indiana Statehouse Join The Nature Conservancy and other members of the newly formed Indiana Conservation Alliance coalition for our first-ever Conservation Day at the Statehouse, February 1, 2005. The Nature Conservancy, along with other Indiana conservation and environmental groups, are working to advocate for increased conservation funding for Indiana; more specifically we are advocating for funding for the following conservation programs: Indiana Heritage Trust, Clean Water Indiana and Farmland Protection. The way to get that done is for legislators to meet you - their constituents - and let them know that they represent individuals like you who care about the natural resources in our state. By attending, you will be sending a message to the legislators that conservation is important to Hoosiers! Be part of a new beginning for conservation in Indiana, and let it start with your voice! You can also call The Nature Conservancy office at 317-951-8818. Don't sit this one out?..make a difference! Sponsored by the Indiana Conservation Alliance (INCA) |

Athlete, singer, and scholar, Robeson was also a charismatic champion of the rights of working people, people of color, and the oppressed living under systems of colonialism. He sacrificed his career to struggle for peace during the depths of the cold war. He is the activist intellectual "missing link" between the heroic struggles for freedom represented by Frederick Douglas, Ida B. Wells, Dr. W.E. B. Du Bois and Dr. Martin Luther King, and Malcolm X.
