OUR MISSION
The Lafayette Area Peace Coalition (LAPC) is founded on the principle that all people are created equal, and that we all share the inalienable right and obligation to live in peaceful coexistence with each other, both within our local community and throughout the world. The LAPC seeks to promote peace at all times and particularly in times of world crisis, by actively working to better understand and counteract the root causes of disharmony and strife, from the personal, local and global perspectives.The LAPC strives to provide a voice for all people whose perspectives may help to facilitate understanding and peace, particularly those people whose voices are not heard in the local, national and global news media.The LAPC supports all actions which promote equality, international cooperation, social justice and harmony among people, and stands firmly against any actions which lead to the unfair treatment of any person based on their ethnic background, religious faith, class, gender or sexual orientation.
